No Longer An Orphan

So many in our society today have the characteristics of an orphan whether they were physically orphaned or not. It's quickly becoming the minority of people now that have a healthy and stable home life.  More and more individuals are broken from divorce, abandonment, molestation, bullying, rage, and the list goes on and on. Because of this dysfunction, rejection is burrowing deep inside our souls, causing the majority of us to live to survive instead of living with purpose.  We hear rogue voices in our heads that tell us we are worthless, that it would be better if we were never born.  Our hearts start to close doors to protect ourselves at a very young age from the pain and lack of affection because we're being raised by broken people.

So how do you recognize when rejection is in your core?

Carrying a root of rejection will cause you to be like the double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.  Like the waves of the sea, you are tossed about as a little tugboat with no navigation. You will constantly be trying to counteract what other people think. At any moment, your mind and emotions can be flooded with suspicion and paranoia which then leads to all kinds of fear, anxiousness, depression, bitterness, resentment and ultimately anger.  When rejection is present there are nagging voices trying to get you to examine the faces and body language of everyone around you.  The words of frivolous conversations never leave your mind for fear of how even certain tones and innuendos were displayed.

The only one who can truly love us and make us whole is God, our Father.  We were made in His image, not in the image of man.  Seeking the love from another human being or any other source will never fill that space where rejection searches to find a home in us.  Attempting to "buck up" and "be strong" on our own will never last.  This vacancy inside of us can only be filled with the love of God to satisfy us.  He designed us that way.

Romans 8:14-16 says this, "For all who are led by the Spirit of God are children of God.  So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves.  Instead, you received God's Spirit when He adopted you as His own children.  Now we call Him, "Abba, Father."  For His Spirit joins with out spirit to affirm that we are God's children."

Let the Lord heal you today from the inside out by surrendering fully to Him without reserve.  He will never leave you nor forsake you.  He is a friend that sticks closer than a brother.  What is there to fear from what man can do to you?  Even if they kill your body, they cannot kill your soul.  If God is for you, who can be against you?

The love of the Father is waiting and longing to heal you forever. As the scripture in Romans 8 states above, it starts by asking Jesus to be led by His Spirit and truly surrendering to Him as a child.  His Spirit will join with your spirit to intertwine His DNA with yours.  You will begin to think as He thinks and not what rejection tells you to think.  When you allow His love to come in, you will never be alone again.  God's supernatural love never fails.
